Jacob Harley Vincent , former frontman of the Swindon hit band Concord Drive.
Following the band's post-COVID demise, Jacob started working on a number of new projects. He, with some of his former bandmates, have now formed a new band called, The Tamers. and have plans are to start performing in 2025. In the meantime Jacob had started recording his own solo material as Jacob Harley.
Whilst recording and composing songs for his new Jacob Harley project, Jacob was asked to perform at a local cafe in Royal Wootton Bassett and this request led to him performing as Jacob Vincent because he knows so many old songs (thanks to his parents love for music) and was able to put together a show called “Songs from my Parents’ Record Collection”. This proved to be an instant hit and he was invited back for future shows. Jacob then developed the show to include associated slide shows for each song and interesting anecdotes about the songs and his reasons for performing them, which give the songs context and suddenly it makes sense why a 25 year old man is performing songs that are about 50 years old.
To date every venue that has booked the show has invited Jacob back and some more than once. The highlight of the shows has been the encores. When we reach that stage, Jacob drops the “Vincent” veneer and becomes Jacob Harley….. The audiences love the Jacob Harley songs as encores so much so that he often performs three or more Jacob Harley encores.
Jacob’s performances have managed to impress other performing artists who have asked him to perform as a warm up act including Gemma Hayes and most recentlyThe Afro Celt Sound System who Jacob will be supporting at The Exeter Phoenix Theatre in October.
Jacob now has interest from booking agents. He has also recently secured a music publishing deal with Strung Out Songs and a recording deal with Long Tale Recordings.
Jacob's star is looking bright and he already has one of his songs synchronised into an animated feature film (A Greyhound of a Girl).
